Westward Single Barrel Oregon Straight Malt Whiskey

1/7/2016

This whiskey is made from 100% malted barley grown in the Pacific Northwest.  Double pot distilled and matured in new, lightly charred American oak barrels.

American Single Malt whiskeys are an interesting category.  Made in the tradition of Single Malt Scotch whiskeys, but with a style of its own.

Tasting Notes:
  • ABV:  45%
  • Color:  Orange/Amber
  • Nose:  Malty, citrus-grapefruit, wood-cigar box
  • Taste:  Creamy-linseed, vanilla, tropical fruit, toasted marshmellow
  • Finish: Medium-long and pleasant  Orange peel.  Oak.
  • Summary: Awesome whiskey!  A contender for the "desert island" whiskey list!
